Free to play, but players can unlock premium features by paying a fee. The game belongs to the freemium category.

The game was released on August 12, 2010, and it remains a massive hit in NA, EU, and Asia 11 years later. Players can experience tank warfare via PC or gaming consoles, and players can command some of the most robust tanks and artillery in history.

Some people say it’s a pay-to-win game, but it’s a good game for its genre. Premium accounts and premium tanks can be beneficial, but they are not essential.

World of Tanks will surely provide you with a unique war experience, but you should be prepared for highly challenging competition. This game requires a lot of strategies and fast decision-making, so it has a steep learning curve.

The game features five different types of vehicles:

  • Light tanks
  • Medium tanks
  • Heavy tanks
  • Tank destroyers
  • SPGs

Depending on their quality, the vehicles are divided into ten tiers. Free and premium tanks are ranked from Tier 1 to Tier 10, with Tier 10 having the best tanks.

World of Tanks Tournaments

There are several different tournament categories for new players: Casual, Semipro, Hardcore, WGL, Ladder, and matches between WoT clans. Yes, you can team up with other tank fighters in this game and form clans to fight together.

The World of Tanks x Sabaton Collaboration

Sabaton, formed in 1999, is a popular Swedish power metal band. Most of their songs are about war and heroism, they perfectly match Wargaming and World of Tanks.

They are not only collaborating on a video clip and a tank though. Fans can purchase Sabaton x WoT apparel and mugs from Bravado, while Displate has teamed up with the band and World of Tanks to create metal posters featuring eight Sabaton x WoT designs.

Lastly, you can purchase WoT x Sabaton apparel at Wargaming’s store.
