How our Wordle Solver works
Our Wordle solver allows users to provide the following four inputs:
- Correctly-Positioned Letters: You can provide all correctly guessed letters and their position.
- Misplaced Letters: On each yellow tile, you can enter up to four letters that exist in the word but are not present in that tile.
- Contains Letters: A more loose filtering option allows you to filter answers based on the letters they contain. You can add any number of letters as input.
- Excluded Letters: You can add all the letters not present in the word in this input to help the solver narrow down the potential answers.
The Wordle solver tool will apply all the filters you have provided and display all the viable answers based on them. Note that Wordle still uses its original list of potential answers, including a word list of 2309 5-letter English words. If the New York Times decides to expand the list with more words as answers are eliminated, we will update the Solver to include the latest list.
Remember that the more clues you provide to the solver, the easier it will be to get closer to the correct answer, so try to eliminate as many letters as possible before using it!

How to play Wordle?
Many people recommend that the first word should be one of the 5-letter words with the most popular letters or one with the?most vowels. Words like SOARE, ROATE, RAISE, SRATE, SANET, CRATE, POACE, and ADIEU are great starters.
From there on, you have another five guesses to figure out the answer. Remember that you can use only valid English 5-letter words to help you. Letters marked with green are in the correct position, while when a letter is marked yellow, you have guessed the correct letter but the wrong position. Wordle answers can contain the same letter more than once.
Your goal should be to eliminate as many letters as possible while putting the letters you have already discovered in the correct order.
