KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, Nexon's new free-to-play mobile RPG, is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play. In this game, you'll explore KonoSuba's parallel world through side-scrolling action and turn-based combat mechanics in KonoSuba: Fantastic Days.
KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World started as a serialized web novel in 2012, before becoming a printed light novel series in 2013 – published by Kadokawa Shoten. The manga, anime, and film followed up as KonoSuba reached higher and higher popularity. Most of you are probably already familiar with KonoSuba via Crunchyroll's anime series.
You can play as some of your favorite anime heroes, such as Kazuma Sato, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness, in KonoSuba: Fantastic Days. Ai Kayano, Jun Fukushima, Sora Amamiya, and Rie Takahashi are among the returnees of the original Japanese voice actors. As well as the all-new storyline, there are new characters.
Characters in KonoSuba are popular, but you can collect more to create your ultimate party against the Devil King. The story and character missions can give you more information about your new teammates.
On August 19, Nexon is hosting an online showcase in celebration of the game's launch. Nexon will host an event on its YouTube channel on August 19 at 11:00 PDT/19:00 BST featuring popular anime personalities and content creators such as CDawgVA, Gigguk, and The Anime Man. Nexon will feature new content and announcements at the showcase, including:
- View exclusive trailers showing what to expect from KonoSuba: Fantastic Days
- A closer look at your favorite characters – actors Jun Fukushima and Sora Amamiya will be available for interviews
- In the community manager tutorials, you'll learn everything you need to know about the storylines, characters, equipment setup, and arena system so you'll be ready to jump right in.
- …and so much more!
The game was released last year, but only in Japan. Those who could not wait had to use VPNs and go through the story in Japanese.
Fans were really excited even before the actual global release. In part, this is because so many Japanese voice actors have reprised their roles.
Graphics
Although the graphics are good, one can expect this from mobile games of this type. Anime-style cutscenes made the game better. While still maintaining the connection to the anime series, this made the experience exciting. After the amazing graphics of Genshin Impact and Punishing Gray Raven, I think good graphics are a must-have for mobile games, so if you have played either game, you won't be stunned.
Gameplay
Gacha games are generally pretty typical in their gameplay. This version is unique, though. There is real-time combat, and the use of cooldowns is good. There are three skills and one Super for each character. So long as the skills are not on cooldown, they can be used whenever they are available. As for the Super, it takes a while to get ready. As a result, you will need to be smart about how you use skills in each round.
There are also some character quirks coming straight out of the manga incorporated into the combat. Darkness's Swing tends to miss a lot, and that's what happens in the manga and anime, so it's great fan service. New players may end up wondering what's going on with her, though.
Story
As soon as you start the game, you're taken back to the first act. For fans, this may come as a surprise. Kazuma was only talking about the “old days” when he actually talked about the whole gang's typical antics. A frog swallows aqua in the KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, and the gang tries to rescue him. After that, it leads you to the combat tutorial. I won't spoil anything else for you, but the story is solid, and you will definitely enjoy it!
