How to add Groovy to your Discord Server

Managing server permissions is required if you want to add a Music bot. Here are the steps. Hence, the admin or manager of the server can add Groovy to Discord. The following are the steps to follow:

  1. Go to your Discord server and sign in.
  2. Visit Groovy's website.
  3. Click on the ‘Add to Discord' button.
  4. You can now add a bot to a server by following the instructions.
  5. Allow permissions that you wish to have, such as ‘Use Voice Activity'.
  6. Click on the Authorize button.
  7. You must first insert the captcha before installing Music Bot.

Groovy lets you specify commands like -play [song name], and the robot will play the requested song. Further, you can use -next, -back, -loop track, -pause, -resume, -lyrics, -remove, and -stop to make the robot follow your commands. You can find the full list of commands on Groovy's website.

We hope that this helps you play music from Youtube, Spotify, Soundcloud, and more. The sound quality will be good, so you won't have to use the mic to play songs, which will sound very bad.

Groovy Bot Termination – August 30th, 2021

Youtube is taking down discord Music bot. YouTube notified Groovy about violations and has issued a cease and desist notice (for violation of the Terms of Service) to Groovy Bot's owners. In a cease and desist letter, the receivers are advised to stop a particular activity or else YouTube will file a lawsuit. There was also a claim that they modified the service and used it for commercial purposes.

According to YouTube, Groovy bot violated the terms of service, including modifying the service. The bot allowed Discord users to play YouTube video music on Discord and Nik Ammerlaan, its creator informed users about its shutdown.

The Groovy bot is no longer available. We'll see how this impacts the other Music bots on Discord. Since Youtube has already taken down one of the largest Discord bots, it is unlikely they will allow any more to operate.

The bot was installed on more than 16 million of the 250 million Discord servers and served 560 million users.
