Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris is the latest AC Valhalla DLC. The DLC was released by Ubisoft on August 12, 2021. In typical Assassin's Creed fashion the DLC includes a new alternate-reality game (ARG).

So, in Assassin's Creed Valhalla's “The Siege of Paris DLC”, players struggle to solve an exciting new mystery. A church is located in Saint-Denis on the Siege of Paris map. Players will find a trapdoor beneath the church leads to another mysterious location. It’s an Isu Temple, like the ones in Assassin’s Creed Unity. However, this location is closed off to the player in the TSP DLC.

Yet, Assassin's Creed Valhalla players have recently made a breakthrough due to hidden Isu writing nearby and within the church.

Assassin's Creed fans who follow the games' various ARGs are undoubtedly aware that Ubisoft mixes real-world tasks with its cryptic messages. Since the current ARG revolves around the church of Saint-Denis, some fans jumped to the conclusion that perhaps the real-world location could provide a clue. Eventually, a visiting fan discovered what could prove to be a crucial clue, thanks to that intuitive leap.

Reddit user RichardYing discovered a Ubisoft-planted posterboard with the Assassin's Creed Valhalla logo and QR code inside Saint-Denis Basilica. Using this QR code, he was able to watch a video never released before. The video begins with the text “Basilica of Saint-Denis Secret Unlocked.” What follows is more Isu text for ARG players to translate.

The translated text is something that ARG players already knew. It seems like a riddle, but the answer to it is not clear at the moment if there is one.

A similar line of text already appeared in the fan kits sent out as part of the Siege of Paris DLC's release. According to the translated text, “you are seeking what part of you is. I am seeking what I am. How much are you willing to sacrifice?” The intriguing bit is that ARG fans believe there may be more than meets the eye to the clue.

Players are still wondering how the process for Assassin's Creed Valhalla ARG will proceed. Fans have already known the clue provided by the Saint-Denis Basilica for some time. There is a belief that this video meant the end of the ARG, encouraging players to visit the Saint-Denis Basilica. Meanwhile, others hope there is more to discover.

For ARG players, it's understandably frustrating if this is the sudden end of the current Assassin's Creed Valhalla ARG. Both participants and viewers expect a solution in-game.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
