Elden Ring beginner’s guide: The Basics of Stats & Leveling

v1.0: More info Coming Soon

Most gamers will find Elden Ring much more user-friendly for entry-level players than other From Software games. However, you will still have questions about the best builds for your character.

This guide will cover everything you need to know about Elden Ring: how and where you'll level up and what stats to concentrate on to suit your preferred playstyle.

How to Level Up in Elden Ring

You must first reach your third Site of Grace, located in the open world. This happens very early in your adventure. Thanks to the rays that guide you from one point of respite into the next, it is easy. Melina, a maiden, will greet you once you have reached the third Site of Grace. You can use her services to help you level up at any Site of Grace within the game.

How leveling works in Elden Ring: The Basics

Elden Ring is unlike other role-playing games. You must manually apply each level to your character throughout your adventure at any Site of Grace. Runes are the equivalent of Souls from Dark Souls. You can use these runes to purchase a variety of stats, such as increased health, stamina bars, or damage with specific weapons and spells.

Be aware that you will lose all runes accumulated but not used if you die in Elden Ring. The runes will be returned to you once you have died. If you fail to do so, they will be lost forever. It's

a good idea for you to search for a Site of Grace to use your runes to

level-up before you take on bosses and dangerous new areas.

We all know that Elden Ring is already one of the most popular From Software games, but that doesn't mean it's easy.

Elden Ring beginner's guide - Character Stats and Leveling

All Elden Ring character Stats and their effects

Arcane

Your discovery rate will increase as you level up Arcane. This means it will be easier for you to find loot from enemies you defeat. This stat is also beneficial for certain incantations and sorceries.

Dexterity

You can use dexterity to increase weapons damage that scale with your stat. It also reduces the casting time of spells and makes it more difficult to knock off your horse.

Endurance

Your Endurance level increases, which will allow you to attack, defend and dodge more often. You can also wear more armor because of the increased equipment load.

Faith

Faith-scaling incantations and weapons require points in Faith. Also, it would be best if you learned the most potent incantations.

Intelligence

Intelligence can be used to improve the damage of sorcery spells; Intelligence-scaling weapons must also be increased to unlock more powerful sorcery.

Mind

Mind increases your maximum FP and grants you more incantation castings and sorcery. If you plan to regularly use your melee weapon's special abilities, this is a valuable stat to level.

Vigor

Every point you put into Vigor increases the total HP of your body, which in turn makes it more resilient to enemy attacks, fall injuries, and other hazards.

Strength

By converting points to Strength, you can wield more powerful weapons and increase the damage caused by scaled weapons with your stat.

The basics of Leveling Up in Elden Ring

Each point you put into one of the eight primary stats will increase your level. Your stat spread will vary depending on which starting class you choose at the start of the game and what long-term goals you have. Magic users and melee users will have different priorities. They will need to consider secondary and primary stats while producing the best possible build.

Characters primarily melee-focused will want to concentrate on Vigor, Endurance, and Strength to ensure they have enough health, stamina, and damage output.

To create a Quality build, you can choose to equalize Strength and Dexterity. You can be reasonably proficient with melee weapons that scale with one or both of these stats. However, this will limit your ability to be fully optimized for anyone. It's still an excellent option for players who want to use a wide range of weapons in From Software games.

You can also invest in Intelligence and Mind to provide massive magical damage bursts and large FP (Elden Ring's mana) pools. Incantation-focused characters will want Mind and Faith to deal massive damage and heal hugely.

However, magic-based builds can benefit from a limited investment in Vigor to gain more health. You may have to meet specific requirements to use some magic weapons, such as those that require Strength or Dexterity. You should maintain your primary focus on incantation or sorcery use as long as you meet the base requirements.

You are free to create hybrid builds that combine different playstyles. You should be aware that this can put you at a disadvantage in certain situations and may prevent you from reaching your full potential in any given category unless you plan to raise your level through multiple New Game+ cycles.
